Blog Posts

We are students of mathematics and computer science with a passion for tackling challenging problems in probability and related fields. This blog is motivated in part by our curiosity with such problems, as well as an opportunity to address a common sentiment faced by university students in studying academic manuscripts. These articles are often authored by members of academia with focused expertise in specific sub-fields, and thus, are written with an assumed amount of prior information lacked by many students. This advanced prerequisite competence can be discouraging for readers that want to explore contemporary topics in a specific discipline. Our goal in addressing each problem is not only to provide solutions, proofs, intuition, applications, and visualizations, but also to lay a foundation of fundamentals that will streamline the reading of higher-level journal articles for students across all disciplines.
We are very thankful to the developers and authors of the blogdown
package and the comprehensive and accessible guide in facilitating the creation of our site- their package greatly increased the ease of publishing equations using $\LaTeX$ formatting and displaying R
code and graphics. Also, a huge expression of gratitude is also owed to the Rbind project for generously providing us with a custom domain name. Finally, the logo was created using two open-source images. (1,2)
